Today we went to Seoul.

First thing we saw when we got off the subway was Outback Steakhouse; awesome. After orientating ourselves with where we were we decided to head to the Namdaemun Market. This is an outside market that is about ten square blocks. The first picture is of us in front of the huge market. Kyle got a steal on some stylish glasses and a wool overcoat.

Then it was off to Deoksugung Palace. The juxtaposition of an ancient palace in the middle of modern Seoul really brought to light the developments of the last millennium. Picture 2 is of me standing in front of a statue in the Palace.

Picture 3 is of Kyle in front of the entrance.

Last is a picture of Seoul at night. We had some Korean barbeque in this night life spot. Hands down Seoul is awesome. Also, major bonus, it is only a short train ride away from our house. More later.

  4. Thanks for the pictures of your apartment, mountains around Yongin and your shopping trip into Seoul. Your apt. is small but you'll make it warm, cozy and comfortable with your presence and love. Judging from Kyle's glasses looks like your shopping was successful. He looks like an academic person in those glasses. Generally Seoul appears to be a great place to live & visit. I'm so glad your first 6 days in Korea have gone well. Keep the pictures & stories coming.
    Love, Dad Arnfelt

  5. OMGGGGGG you make me want to visit!!!!! It looks amazing and free WiFi?? I can see this blog is going to be a major distraction for me over the next YEAR. The apartment does look a little small but by the looks of it, you would be crazy to spend much time there anyway... SO much else to see and do! Oh and maybe not on here, but can you send me your address there? How does mail work, will I run into any problems if I ever send you something?? I'm so jealous/excited/amazed/impressed/JEALOUS!!! :) Since I'm assuming you (Michelle) will be the one checking this more often, tell Kyle I say hi, miss you both already... such a teaser to see you twice in one week before you left! Have fun and let me know when you get skype or whatever you plan to use that webcam for! LOVE YOUUU

Sounds like things are going well. I am up in MN & I am staying at Grandma Arnfelt's apt, so I showed grandma your blog. She was excited to see the pictures and here about Korea. Grandma say's "HI and she passes along her well wishes & HUGS"!
